NEW ZEALAND TRAVEL & TOURISM RE-INVENTED

A disruption to shape the future of NZ travel

Travel Lab is leading a movement to put "Our Industry" first.

Travel Lab is a business born out of the devastation that COVID-19 brought upon the travel industry. Former senior leaders from the New Zealand travel industry have combined to rethink and reinvent travel distribution in NZ.

"Being in travel wasn't the greatest industry to be in when Covid hit! We found ourselves thinking of our future and how we would survive in such an uncertain world. By refusing to give up and via our global networks, we connected to some very clever technologists (and great people!), who wanted to develop our ideas into reality. Through some incredibly hard work and late nights, offset by lots of laughs, a few beers and along with incredibly supportive friends and family, our belief never waivered. And as a result Travel Lab was born!"

THE OPPORTUNITY

Travel Lab’s ambition is to collaborate with like minded technologists to drive solutions via digital means that benefit both suppliers and consumers of travel. We believe in open marketplaces that decentralises the power of legacy travel supply. We favour innovative technology to ensure any margin taken in a supply chain drives true value. This effectively eliminates the unnecessary middlemen of old.

GROWING IDEAS - At Travel Lab we’re dedicated to discovering what else is possible for the New Zealand Travel Industry. Identifying what systems can be improved and, what tech can be developed, and the collaborations to make it happen.

We’re out to re-invent the travel industry in our ‘Travel Lab’ and we want to hear from you. Kiwi’s are world renowned for our ingenuity and creativity which is why we know there’ll be a lot more ideas out there around potential solutions to the challenges facing our industry. No idea big or small is ruled out as impossible.
